Tchaikovsky's Fifth, Copland's Clarinet Concerto & Bartók's Dance Suite

Martin Fröst, Paavo Järvi and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich

{{ message.content }}

As of the beginning of the 2019/20 season, Paavo Järvi is the new chief conductor of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich. Among his first projects is the recording of all of Tchaikovsky's symphonies. The orchestra is also taking the Fifth Symphony on tour. Also in their luggage: Aaron Copland's jazz-influenced Clarinet Concerto, featuring Martin Fröst. The structure of the work is unusual: it has only two movements, which are joined together by a clarinet cadenza. Before that, Bartók's subtle Dance Suite.

Martin Fröst appears by kind permission of Sony Classical.
