For its 65th edition, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival celebrates London, one of Europe's musical capitals. The connections to the city don't stop with the soloist after whom the festival was named, Yehudi Menuhin. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy traveled to Britain ten times, and was even made an honorary member of the Royal Philharmonic Society. His first Piano Trio is followed by Franz Schubert's late second Piano Trio, in which Robert Schumann claimed to see an "angry celestial apparition". A feast of chamber music with a star line-up, featuring Isabelle Faust, Sol Gabetta and Bertrand Chamayou.
