The grand final of the first International Conducting Competition Rotterdam holds a true behemoth of a program for the contestants. Symphonies by Mahler, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky, as well as the commissioned work Night Flight by Joey Roukens are going to stretch the young talents to the limit. The contestants are Carlos Ágreda from Columbia, Bertie Baigent from Great Britain, Martijn Dendievel from Belgium, Chloe Rooke from Great Britain, Joel Sandelson from Great Britain, and Luis Toro Araya from Chile. On the jury: Michael Garvey, Jane Glover, Ara Guzelimian (jury president), Ton Koopman, Kenneth Montgomery, Ed Spanjaard and Elmar Weingarten.
