The finale of the Baden-Baden HOUSE FESTIVAL series featuring an ensemble of musicians from the Berlin Philharmonic. At the center of the highly varied program is Mozart's Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in A major, flanked by the allegro from Franz Schubert's String Trio in B flat major and Giacomo Puccini's Crisantemi for String Quartet. The latter work makes an appearance in the death scene from Puccini's opera Manon Lescaut; the title is a reference to the chrysanthemum as a traditional flower of mourning.
A production of the Festpielhaus Baden-Baden in cooperation with takt1.
